PTE词汇积累:高频动词词组和短语?

As the PTE exam is a test of English language proficiency, building a strong vocabulary is a crucial part of the preparation process. Here we present some of the most common and essential high-frequency verbs, phrasal verbs, and phrases to help you improve and expand your vocabulary for the PTE exam.

High-frequency verbs:

1. Analyze: to study or examine something in detail to understand it better, e.g., It is essential to analyze the data before drawing any conclusions.

2. Evaluate: to judge or determine the significance or value of something, e.g., The report evaluates the economic impact of climate change.

3. Interpret: to explain the meaning of something, e.g., The expressions on his face were difficult to interpret.

4. Implement: to put a plan or idea into action, e.g., The company is planning to implement new training programs.

5. Examine: to inspect or scrutinize something thoroughly, e.g., The doctor examined the patient carefully before prescribing the treatment.

Phrasal verbs:

1. Bring up: to raise or mention a topic, e.g., She brought up the issue of unfair working conditions.

2. Put off: to postpone or delay something, e.g., The meeting has been put off until next week.

3. Look after: to take care of someone or something, e.g., Can you look after my cat while I am away?

4. Set up: to establish or create something, e.g., The company is setting up a new branch in China.

5. Take over: to assume control of something, e.g., The new CEO will take over the company from next month.

Useful phrases:

1. According to: as stated or reported by someone or something, e.g., According to the weather report, it will rain tomorrow.

2. In order to: for the purpose of achieving something, e.g., He is studying hard in order to get into a good college.

3. As well as: in addition to something else, e.g., She is fluent in Spanish as well as French.

4. Due to: because of, e.g., The train was delayed due to heavy snow.

5. On the other hand: used to introduce an alternative point of view, e.g., Some people prefer coffee, while, on the other hand, others prefer tea.
